Welcome to Southern Air Transport Virtual

 

Southern Air Transport is a virtual airline operating on the VATSIM network and is based on the Southern Air Transport airline that went bankrupt in the 90's after half a decade in the cargo hauling business.

Like the original Southern Air Transport, we specialize in moving outsized cargo to all points of the world utilizing specialized airframes.  While many of the aircraft in our fleet were not operated by our namesake, we have opted to "imagine" what airframes this great carrier would be operating if it remained in business today.

Whether is moving tractors to a budding farming community in South America, delivering equipment to the frozen ice caps, moving oil rig parts, or dropping food to disaster victims, Southern Air Transport Virtual lives by it's motto "The Uncommon Carrier"

 

What We offer new pilots

  • The ability to fly civilian versions of military aircraft and in some cases, surplus military aircraft
  • Fly aircraft in ways normally reserved for virtual military organizations (air drops, extreme short field landings and take offs, LAPES, arctic flights, and contract flights for the military) and push the limits of each airframe
  • Most of all, more fun than you can have with your clothes on!
