Software used by Southern Air Transport Virtual Airlines

Southern Air Transport Virtual is based on  Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and is currently working to make aircraft and scenery available for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Because we fly on the VATSIM network, we ask that pilots have a working internet connection and an established account with VATSIM.

We strongly encourage our pilots to use FSinn to connect to the VATSIM network. All of our leadership staff is well versed in the use of FSinn and therefore can offer support more effectively than we can for Squwakbox. However, if you use squawkbox and are comfortable with it, feel free to use it!

GET FSinn Here: FSinn

Southern Air Transport Virtual has a dedicated Ventrilo server. Click Here for more information!

Because we use Captain Sim and AlphaSim as our primary airframes here are links to the respective aircraft

Captain Sim C-130 for FS9: CAPTAIN SIM  (Pilots will need to C-130 Pro pack and Expansion pack)

AlphaSim: CH-53
C-7 Caribou

Suggested Software

Not required - just highly recommended!

Active Sky - Weather generation product that is amazing!

FSpassengers - We don't carry many passengers, but using FSpax to add cargo and failures adds allot to the simulation!

Snapper - We love screenshots. It's like we are addicted to them. So here is a program to make it a bit easier to get that perfect shot!

Fraps - We love videos too!

TA Software's Flight Planner uses Google Earth and is comparable to FSnav
